Roy "Sonny" Sorenson Jr. Born: February 10, 1954 in Ottawa, IL Died: June 29, 2024 in Grand Ridge, IL Roy "Sonny" Sorenson Jr., 70 of Grand Ridge, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Saturday, June 29, 2024. Following cremation, a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Sonny was born on February 10, 1954, in Ottawa to Roy Sr and Luella (Sibert) Sorenson. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mary Jo (Kettman) Sorenson. They had 2 children, Adam (Gabby) Sorenson of Ottawa, daughter Katie (Shane) Holt of Town Creek, AL and 4 grandchildren Ryder, Tanner, Charleigh and Bryleigh. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Rich Sorenson. Sonny graduated from Ottawa High School in 1973, he was retired from Carpenters local 195/174 having served as a trustee. Sonny retired from the Grand Ridge Volunteer Fire Department. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and at the Grundy County Speedway. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the
