Betty L. (Williamson) Wiertz, 94, of Washington, formerly of Oglesby, passed away Friday, June 28, 2024 at Washington Senior Living.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Monday, July 8, 2024 at the Mueller Funeral Home, Lostant with Rev. Bob DeBolt of Crossroads Global Methodist Church, Washington officiating. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, Lostant. Visitation will be 10-11:30 AM Monday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Wiertz was born April 3, 1930 in Streator to Maynard and Mayme (Golden) Williamson. She married Norman Wiertz on August 26, 1972 at the Lostant United Methodist Church. He passed away on July 10, 2009.
Mrs. Wiertz was a former member of the Oglesby Union Church, Global Methodist Church in Washington, the Oglesby American Legion, and the Red Hat Society. She was a farmer and loved to garden and care for stray cats.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda (Gary) Heider of Washington; a son, Gary (Debra) Maxey of Hermiston, OR; four step-daughters, Julia (Jeffrey) Marynus
