Born on November 4, 1937 in Peru IL, she was the daughter of Robert and Berneice (Peters) Meuser. She was baptized and confirmed at St John's Lutheran Church in Peru IL and graduated in 1955 from LaSalle Peru High School. She married Ronald H. Jenkins on February 17, 1968.
