Doris "June" (Peterson) Freebairn Born: June 7, 1926 in Ransom, IL Died: August 22, 2024 in Ottawa, IL Doris "June" (Peterson) Freebairn, 98, of Utica, passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at the Pavilion of Ottawa. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Waltham Presbyterian Church, Utica with Rev. Joel Stevenor, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Waltham Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church prior to the funeral services. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mueller Funeral Home, Ottawa. Doris was born on June 7, 1926 in Ransom to Herman and Pauline (Kleinmaier) Peterson. She graduated Seneca High School in 1944. Doris married Thomas Freebairn on September 14, 1946. She made her home on the family farm in Waltham Township, north of Utica for more than 65 years. She truly assisted her husband Tom in the entire farming operation.
