DeeDee was born on February 26, 1952, at the Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul to William J. and Ruth (Clements) Chalkey. She is survived by her son Michael (Courtney Prentice) Chalkey of Streator, grandchildren, Alex, Keagen and Charlotte, brothers, Dennis "Mooney" Chalkey of Streator, Thomas (Susan) Chalkey of Gilbert, AZ, and Timothy (LouAnn) Chalkey of Streator, sister, Rhonda Phillis of Streator, step brothers, Ronald (Marilyn) Sauers of Streator, and Dale "Creature" Sauers of Streator, Step sisters Carol (Chuck) Noonan of Huntley and Brenda Heinz of Huntley, special friend Denise Stillwell and several nieces and nephews. DeeDee is preceded in death by her parents and her twin brother Douglas Chalkey. She attended St. Stephen's Grade School and graduated in 1970 from the Streator High School
