William Russell Serby, 64, of Ottawa, passed away suddenly on Friday, August 23, 2024.A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa with Sally Rutledge-Ott, officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.William was born on May 1, 1960 in Ottawa to Russell and Anne (Rutledge) Serby. He was a manager at Golden Rule Lumber, Ottawa for 28 years. He was married to Shelley (Onnen) Serby for 30 years and had two children, Brenna and Jake. William enjoyed playing golf and cards. He was an avid Chicago White Sox and the Dallas Cowboys fan, but most of all he loved spending time with friends and family.He is survived by his two children, Brenna (Jordan) Funk, Jacob Serby, both of Ottawa; a granddaughter, Grace Funk; a sister, Lynn (Robert) Rice; and three nephews, Jeremiah, Joshua, and Justin.He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Anne Serby.Memorials may be directed to the f
