She was the eldest of four children and she was followed by Judy, Daniel and Kathy. A graduate of St. Francis Academy Class of 1954, she worked at Gerlach Barklow Co., a greeting card company in Joliet, while she dated Dean Sweetwood from nearby Elwood, Ill. The dating couple enjoyed the popular spots in the 1950s like drive-in movies and the Silver Frost Drive-In restaurant on East Cass Street in Joliet. Dean and Lois were married on Saturday, May 21,1955, at St Mary's Nativity Church in Joliet and spent more than 70 years enjoying a beautiful life together. After more than seven decades, it is impossible for friends and family to think of one without thinking of the other.
